From Beyond is Stuart Gordon and Brian Yuzna following up Re-Animator with another Lovecraft adaptation that fully commits to its own insanity. The practical effects are inventive and disgusting in equal measure and Jeffrey Combs plays it completely straight, which is exactly right. It takes its premise seriously and then goes further with it than you'd expect.
